Ahkter Husin ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Rohingya Quran mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information that we receive through our App. We are committed to protecting your privacy while providing a comprehensive Islamic and cultural resource for the Rohingya community.

2. Detailed Data Collection & Technical Justification

Our App utilizes specific Flutter dependencies to provide advanced features. Below is a breakdown of the data we access:

A. Location Data (Precise & Approximate)

  • Data Accessed: Precise GPS coordinates and network location.

  • Purpose: To calculate accurate Islamic Prayer Times (Salat) and determine the Qibla direction relative to your physical position.

  • Usage: Location data is processed locally on your device via the geolocator and adhan libraries. It is not stored on our servers.

B. Device & Identifiers

  • Data Accessed: Device model, OS version, unique device identifiers, and hardware info.

  • Purpose: Collected via device_info_plus and package_info_plus to ensure compatibility with different Android/iOS versions and to provide technical support.

C. Audio & Media State

  • Data Accessed: Playback state and audio focus.

  • Purpose: Using just_audio and audio_service, the app monitors your audio session to allow Quran recitations to play in the background and to pause automatically during incoming phone calls.

D. Local Storage & Preferences

  • Data Accessed: Read/Write access to the device’s internal storage.

  • Purpose: We use shared_preferences and get_storage to save your bookmarks, "last read" position, and theme settings (Teal base). This data remains on your device.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

The App integrates with third-party services to enhance performance and provide cloud-based features. These providers may collect information used to identify you:

  • Google Play Services: Facilitates app updates and core Android functionality.

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to deliver push notifications for prayer times and app updates.

  • Firebase Crashlytics: Collects anonymized logs in the event of an app crash (firebase_crashlytics) to help us fix bugs.

  • Google Maps API: Displays mosques or geographical data via Maps_flutter.

4. Permissions Disclosure

To provide its services, the App will request the following permissions:

  • Notification Permission: For Azan alerts and reminders.

  • Location Permission: For Prayer Times and Qibla.

  • Background Execution: To ensure the Azan and audio player function when the screen is off or the app is minimized.

  • Internet Access: To fetch updated content and stream Quranic audio.

5. Data Security & Retention

We prioritize the security of your information:

  • No Personal Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others.

  • Encryption: Any communication between the app and Firebase/external APIs is encrypted via HTTPS (SSL/TLS).

  • Data Minimization: We only collect the minimum amount of data required for the app to function.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The Rohingya Quran app is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

7. International Users

As the App serves the global Rohingya diaspora, please be aware that information may be processed in countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to this processing.
